We know the law of attraction gives us back more of what we are vibrating. If we want more things to be grateful for, we have to be grateful for what we have now.

Gratitude is a beautiful feeling. It really helps to put you in that all important success vibration.

If you have food on your table and clothes on your back, then you can truly celebrate the abundance in your life.

As you spend time with your loved ones over the holidays, think about all the blessings you have in your life to be grateful for. Give thanks for the goals that you have already reached in 2008 and throughout your life, and the goals that you are in the process of achieving right now.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Slow Down!

We all lead very busy lives which can make it difficult to remain focused on our goals. With so many things to do each day, it is easy to get lost in the day to day tasks. Sadly, our dreams take a back seat.

We complicate matters ourselves by trying to focus on too many goals at the same time. We have short, medium, and long term goals in all areas of our lives including financial goals, career goals, relationship goals and so on.

Time to simplify things. Write out your current short term goal on an index card. Make it emotional, written in the present tense with exciting adjectives. This goal can be focused on one or more areas of your life, the point is to write it in a way that gets you super motivated each time you read it.

Now the next all important step, carry the goal card with you everywhere you go. Read it several times a day. It doesn't matter how busy you are, you can always find one minute or so to read your goal card. This will keep your goal in the forefront of your mind regardless of how busy your life gets.

Once you reach the goal, then and only then will you be ready to move on to the next one. This will allow you to slow down, stay focused and in action towards actually achieving your goals one at a time, instead of just wishing that you had the time to devote to them.

Follow the Leader

Do you know anyone who has already reached the goal you are working towards? It is truly amazing how much we can learn from following another person's lead.

Even if you don't know them personally, you can still learn about how they succeeded. For example there is an endless supply of self help resources, autobiographies and biographies of very successful people who have outlined their success path for us.

Be aware of the people in your life who have all the answers you are looking for, but no personal evidence of actually knowing what they are talking about. You know the people I am referring to, we all have them in our lives. Although they do mean well, take their advice with great caution. If they haven't done it themselves, what qualifies them to advise you on the matter.

Instead seek to associate and learn from those who have been there and done that with respect to your goals. You will find that this can truly save yourself a lot of time, money and unnecessary mistakes along your success journey, by simply following a leader.

Limiting Beliefs Stop You From Reaching Your Goals

Do you have limiting beliefs that are holding you back from reaching your goals? You may not even be aware of your limiting beliefs, you may even think that you don't have any. The truth is we all have them, in many cases we took them on from our parents or authority figures when we were very young.

If you are like me, you may have heard one of these regularly when you were young; money doesn't grow on trees. or only rich people are lucky.

Look at the areas in your life in which you are struggling, chances are you have a belief that is holding you back in that part of your life. For example, if you have consistently been struggling financially, you probably hold a belief that money is hard to come by, or maybe you don't believe that you deserve to be wealthy.

Now that you have identified your limiting beliefs you can begin to change them into new, positive and supportive beliefs. Write down your old limiting belief, cross it out and replace it with the oppositve belief which is in support of achieving your goals.

You can then begin to reprogram your subconscious mind with the new belief with consistent daily imprinting of the belief. This will take several weeks and possibly months of consistency. Remember, you have been carrying that old limiting belief for a long time, it is not going to go away very quickly.

Stick with it, and you will soon begin to see the results you want in your life and be on the way to achieving your goals.

Do You Belief You Can Do It?

How big are your goals? Do you really believe that you can achieve them? It is great, and really necessary to have big goals in life, but it is equally important that they are believable for you.

This is especially important with your shorter term goals. It is all fine and dandy to set a goal to make $1million in the next three months, but do you really believe that is possible for you? If you are currently making about $10,000. in a three month period, it is safe to say that the answer is definitely no.

If your goals are so ridiculously big and unbelievable, you will not even know how to begin to go about achieving them. Instead of being motivated to even try, you will probably find that you are not only unmotivated but will quickly lose interest altogether.

On the other hand if you set a goal which is just outside of your current comfort zone and your current belief of what is possible for you, it is much easier for you to forge ahead and take action to achieve it. Your visualizations will be more believable for you and your subconscious mind will begin to present the action plan for achievement.

The Missing Ingredient

Can you honestly say that you take action each and every day towards achieving your goals? For many of us, action is the missing ingredient. We spend plenty of time working on our mindset and belief with daily visualizations and affirmations of success and then we expect the Law of Attraction to do the rest.

The reality is that if you spend all of your time dreaming of a big bag of money, eventually you will end up in the poor house with no money at all. You must take action!

If you have a huge goal and you don't know what all the action steps are that will be required, just take the first step. Ask yourself each morning, "What action can I take today that will bring me closer to achieving my goal?"

With each action step taken, another action step will be revealed to you. The Law of Attraction will see that you are serious about actually achieving your goal, and will ensure that you have the knowledge needed to take the action required.

Visualization Can Change Your Mind

If achieving your goal involves getting out of your comfort zone, you are going to have to spend some time reprogramming your subconscious mind before you can achieve it. Your brain is set much like the thermometer in your home, to keep the temperature at the set point.

When you begin to take action steps towards achieving a big goal which is outside of your current comfort zone, a chemical is released into the nervous system which your brain defines as danger. It is imperative that you spend some time resetting the temperature/comfort zone in your mind, this can be done through visualization.

With consistent and persistent daily visualization of your goal and the emotions you will feel upon achieving that goal, you are telling your subconscious mind that reaching your goal is within your comfort zone and perfectly safe. Your subconscious mind cannot decipher between reality and imagined reality.

Visualization is one of the tools which allows us to use the Law of Attraction to achieve what we want. A few short minutes a couple of times a day, can help to get you on your way to achieving your goal.

Do You Keep Your Commitments?

How are you at keeping your commitments? You may wonder what keeping commitments has to do with materializing your goals, the answer is a lot. The two go hand in hand. I would go so far as to say that if you generally don't keep your commitments, you probably also struggle to reach your goals.

The reality is that reaching your goals requires keeping all of your commitments to the most important person, yourself. This is where many of us tend to fall short. We get so worried about keeping others happy, but we are OK with letting ourselves down. This is completely backwards.

Now, I am not suggesting that you should disregard your commitments to others, but I am saying that you should put just as much importance on the commitments you make to yourself as you do your commitments to others.

For many of us the solution here is to make sure that we do not over commit to others. Before you make any commitments to others make sure that you are able to keep those commitments while still reaching your personal commitments that bring you closer to achieving your goals.

Adversity Provides Clarity on What You Want

Nobody likes to struggle, but we can all use our bad times to become clear on our goals. This is simply done by knowing what we don't want, which allows us to use contrast through clarity to figure out what we do want.

For example if you are stuck in a job you hate, you can sit down and write out all of the things that you don't like about your job on one side of a sheet of paper. You may end up with some things like: My boss doesn't appreciate me. My work is boring and unfulfilling.

Now you can go down the list of things that you don't want and cross them out and beside them on the other side of the page write down the opposite, or what you do want. You may end up with things like: I am very appreciated and valued for my work. My work is challenging, rewarding, and fulfulling.

You can now use the law of attraction to focus on what you want, and start to take the action steps to achieve it.

Sometimes we need the bad times to know and appreciate the good times. If you know what you don't want, only focus on it long enough to get clear on what you do want. You can then be free to focus on your goals.

How Bad do You Want It?

So you have your goal and you are working consistently and persistently towards it for a little while and then you just stop. Why did you end the progress you were making?

You may be experiencing some adversity in your life which is taking your focus away from your goal. Yes, when things go wrong, you have to make them right again, but you don't have to lose your focus. Whatever the problem is, it may take up most of your time and your concentration, but you can still at least remember that your goal is still your ultimate focus. It is ok if you have to back off a little from the action steps, just don't stop all together.

If you goal is powerful enough, it should be easier for you to stay focused and on task. You should be very emotionally involved with your goal, to the point that you have a 'do whatever it takes' committment to reach it. Unless you want it bad enough, life's struggles will stop you dead in your tracks everytime.

If you want it bad enough, you will make sure that you get it. You will be more powerful than any circumstances in your life. So the question is, How bad do you want it?

Do Your Affirmations Support your Goals?

Most of us have heard of affirmations, many of us even use them on a regular basis. They truly are a powerful tool when used to support the achievement of our goals.

The problem is many of us fall into the trap of letting them undercut the achievement of our goals. Let's say for example that you are running late for work for the third time this month, and frustrated about it you say to yourself, "I am always late". Your subconscious mind then takes that on and says, "Ok, I am always late". It will then proceed to make sure that you are indeed always late.

Instead we need to forgive ourselves of our mistakes afterall, we are only human. When you make a mistake recognize it as just that, a mistake, do not affirm it as who you are. Instead forgive yourself and begin to affirm what you really want. "I choose to be on time for work everyday".

Affirmations are a great personal growth tool when used in a positive, supportive way. The important thing is to make sure that your self talk is in alignment with what you want at all times. Use your affirmations to support the achievement of your goals, not undercut them.

Start Your Day Out Right

If you are serious and motivated about reaching your goals, it is imperative that you keep your emotions in check. The law of attraction gives us back what we put our attention, energy and focus on, so we must make sure we are feeling good and positve. A good way to do this is to make sure you start each day out right.

Gratitude is a beautiful thing which makes us feel really good. Before you get out of bed each morning, go through the top five or ten things that you are grateful for at that moment. You will begin to notice more things throughout the day that you are grateful for. You may even finally begin to truly appreciate the things that you usually take for granted.

By being grateful for the abundance that you already have in your life, you will begin to realize that you already are very successsful. The law of attraciton will then bring you more of the same, more success. This is an important step in the achievement of your goals. If you want more in life, you have to be grateful for what you have now.

We all have an abundance of people and things in our lives to be grateful for. If you have food on your table, a roof over your head, and clothes on your back, you truly are blessed. Start out each morning by going through your gratitude list. You will begin to see how doing this one simple exercise will support you in reaching all of your goals.

Break the Cycle of Limiting Beliefs

Where do your limiting beliefs come from? Are they really yours, or did you take them on from someone else? The reality is that many of your deep rooted beliefs (the good and the bad) came from your parents or other authority figures when you were young.

Think back to when you were a child, there were probably a few phrases that you heard repeatedly from your parents, that have since become your own limiting beliefs. A couple of examples would be "Money doesn't grow on trees", or "Rich people are greedy".

These beliefs our parents had were probably passed down to them by their parents, who learned them from their parents, and so on. The important thing is that you forgive them, they certainly didn't mean to cause you any harm. They were just trying to teach you and guide you the only way they knew how, which is the same way they learned.

The good news is that you can break the cycle. You can reprogram your mind with new, supportive beliefs that will assist you in reaching your goals. You can then pass on these positive beliefs to your children and watch them build the life of their dreams.

Change your Beliefs to Support Your Goals

Are you struggling to reach your goals in a certain area of your life? Have you considered the possibility that you may be sabotaging your own success? We all have deeply routed limiting beliefs which can hold us back from being successful. These beliefs will actually keep us from reaching our goals.

The good news is that if the problem is within you, so is the solution. If your beliefs are at odds with your goals, you can change your beliefs to support your goals. By examining the problem area of your life, you can identify the beliefs you have in that area which may be holding you back. If you are having trouble making friends, you may believe that people don't like you. If you are struggling financially, you may hold a belief that money is hard to come by, or only lucky people get rich.

Now that you have recognized the damaging beliefs you can replace them with the opposite, new, positive beliefs that support your goals. With consistent and persistent repetition, you can reprogram your mind to let go of the old belief and take on the new supportive belief. Be patient, this will not happen overnight. You will find that your mind may be filled with contrary thoughts, but just put them right out of your head.

Why carry around damaging and limiting beliefs? Make the committment to yourself to identify them and replace them with beliefs which support your goals and promote your success.

As a very successful Entrepreneur I have discovered that there are 5 common denominators that most of us have. These have been confirmed by a couple of the most successful Entrepreneurs I know of, John Assaraf and Murray Smith who co-authored the, if not yet, the soon to be bestseller "The Answer". Assuming that you are serious about becoming an Entrepreneur, either in online marketing or in a brick and mortar business this is a book that should be considered required reading.

Everywhere I research on the internet these days you will find an advertisement that claims we have the best compensation plan or the best product on the market. It is so simple, all you have to do is sign up, send in your money and you will have no choice but be successful. I guess I could turn by hat backwards, show you some fancy houses, or put my bare feet up on my desk giving the illusion that all I do is sit by my computer and collect the cash -- maybe I could do all 3. The reality is life, nor business is that simple. If you have to discredit or "slam" something else then there is very little merit to the opportunity you are presenting.

Here is a question that you need to consider:

"how successful of an image do I need to portray in order to guarantee your success?"

Here are the 5 common denominators that you require in order to be successful in any venture:

1. You must have a passion for what you do -- a real burning desire to make it successful. This is the one area that you must develop for yourself because without it you are destined for inaction towards the success you are trying to achieve. Without the burning desire and the passion to make it work you will never carry out the next 4.

2. You must develop an expertise and become very very good at it. Once you find an area of interest, business wise, either you or the system that you tap into must be able to teach, coach or mentor you into becoming the best at it.

3. You must believe that you are able to reach the top. Reformatting your belief structure is imperative -- you will never achieve until you believe.

4. You must be able to figure out how to tap into a marketplace so people will pay you for doing it. These people will receive a benefit from it and thank you for introducing them to the service, product or opportunity because it will change some or all aspects of their life.

5. You must overcome the fear of taking the actions required.
We have been Network Marketing from home for almost 3 years now and realize the importance of these 5 common traits.

One is not more important than the other, you must have all 5 of them consistently and persistently. One sure fired way to ensure that you keep all of them working for you is to align yourself with the right people. Look for people that have a desire to assist you along the way. These won't be people that will do it for you, or introduce you to a business where you don't have to do anything -- just people that will keep you on track and hold you accountable to your own business.

So it is apparent that you are interested in a home based business of some sort -- congratulations. It can be used as both a diary to record events in your life, and as a personal development tool. It is a great place to record events in your life and your reaction to those events, kind of like the cause and effect or the actions and reactions in your life. Your emotions are a very powerful memory tool. By writing about how you felt about an event, it helps you to recall the true experience of what happened at a later time.

Your journal will also help you work through some of the negative emotions that you may be feeling. The simple act of actually acknowledging how you feel and writing about it is the first step. Once you know how you feel, you can work at figuring out why, or what happened to make you feel that way. Sometimes, we cannot identify an exact event that caused the feeling, but journaling effectively allows us to at least figure out when the negative feelings started. Now you are ready to identify how you want to feel, and do what you need to do to create that positive feeling in your life.

In order to fully benefit from your journal it is necessary to go back over it and study your progress. If you experience a similar difficult situation or feeling, you can look back and read about how you worked through it before. Your journal then becomes a chart of your personal growth, which gives you cause for celebration. After all, what is the point of making mistakes if you are not going to learn from them?

If you are new to journaling you may find it awkward at first, and you might not know what to write about. The trick is to just write anything. You can even write about the fact that you don’t have anything to write about. Over time your thoughts and feelings will begin to flow freely onto the paper, just keep with it by making it part of your day to day routine. There are no rules or guidelines stating that your daily journaling has to be a certain length, or that it even has to make any sense. Remember, it is for your eyes only, so just write about whatever comes to mind.

Over time your journal can become a useful tool in your personal development. If you use it to record what has happened, and your feelings around the event, you will find that the emotion you put into it helps to keep your memories alive. You can work through your negative emotions much easier by recording them, and their cause. It is an incredible way to chart your personal progress, and learn from the journey. A life worth living is a life worth writing about.

Track your progress and Celebrate your wins

How you feel is so tremendously important don’t you think? I mean really, when you feel good about an accomplishment it empowers you to do so much more. As a result recognizing that feeling is just as important. By recognizing the feeling I mean you need to celebrate it and by celebrating the process of that achievement you will feel better the entire time you are working towards the end result. Celebrating the process is best achieved by keeping a progress log, either in your journal or on the back of your goal card.

It really doesn't matter how big or how small the goal is that you want to materialize either, no matter what, keep track of your progress towards it and celebrate the heck out of it once you have gotten there. Take a moment and have a look at a couple of goals that have been materialized recently and how we tracked them and then celebrated them.

In January of this year I set a goal to achieve a premium membership status with ezine articles. Now from what I could figure out, that could be a relatively simple process or I could make it a difficult process. I knew that would be my choice. Like I have described in some of my past articles I chose to put focused energy into the task. I went about learning exactly what was expected of my for submitting articles that adhered to the guidelines of the platform, realizing of course, that it didn't matter whether I agreed with the guidelines or not. I wanted to be posting articles there and as a result I had to adhere to their rules. It just was fortunate that I had no issues with the guidelines by the way.

I knew that the process could take anywhere from 10 – 25 submissions and I was on a mission to get the task done in 10. I charted every success on the road. I kept a log of my articles, when they were submitted and when they were approved until I reached what I had faith was the last one that I would need for the upgrade. Every time an article was approved I put a great big check mark and the date by it. Today I celebrate being upgraded by letting my entire list of associates and customers know about it, they celebrate with me and the positive energy around the articles is astounding. Now I realize that this is a small celebration, but it is a celebration none the less and I always feel better celebrating than anything else.

Now let me tell you about a bigger goal that we are going to be celebrating at the end of this month. A couple of years ago my wife and I set a goal to work from home, together, full time and profitably. Because we applied absolute laser beam focused energy into that goal, tracked every inch of our progress towards it we will be celebrating with the bottle of Champagne that we put aside just for this occasion. We put that focused energy into several areas:

Watching and tracking our progress (celebrating every small win and step towards the goal)
Personal development
Goal setting
We carefully chose the business models we would use
Responsibility, and
Accountability

A long time ago we picked out the resort we wanted to celebrate at and we will be doing just that in a few short weeks. Living a life of design, our design is a wonderful thing.

Using the The 80 / 20 Principle to Materialize Your Goals

Many of you may have heard of the "80/20" rule, less commonly known as the Pareto Principle. What is the 80/20 rule and how does it apply to materializing your goals?

The Pareto Principle states that 80% of your results will come from 20% of your efforts. What this should tell us is that, 20% of your results come from the other 80% of your efforts. Is it possible, I mean really possible that 80% of our efforts are essentially wasted? Many of us tend to focus on doing the little things, the unimportant things such as reading an email right away that has no obvious bearing on the task at hand. Often this is just a distraction from focusing on what we really want to achieve. In other words "procrastination". What this really yields us is slow results and a feeling of being overwhelmed with "things" to get done.

Let's look at how to apply the 80/20 principle to materializing your goals. If you spend 20% of your focused energy, time and effort into working towards your goals, you'll see massive results in a short period of time. That's focus. Suppose your goal is to lose some weight. You've made a commitment to eat healthier and exercise regularly. Using the 80/20 principle, you would exercise in the morning, before you start your day. You've just taken massive action towards your goals before you get bogged down in your daily routine and responsibilities. You feel powerful because you've kept your commitment, and it sets your mood for the entire day. Not only do you feel healthy but you've created more energy and mental clarity to get you through your day. Excellent!

Here's another example: You've set a goal to write that best-selling book. You know what time of day you create your best material so you schedule that as sacred "writing time". You spend a couple hours (or one or two) writing without interruption - consistently and persistently. Before you know it, you've completed your manuscript. By taking the time every day to work towards your goal, you're building confidence that you CAN materialize your goal. That begins to take on a life of it's own.

We all have "to do" lists; many of us have ones that never end, some of us have a list of lists to get done. There will always be "things" that needs to get done. Our email inboxes are always full, we just want to watch that one TV show, perhaps getting organized is all we need to do before we begin…all diversion tactics. Take some time every day, consistently and persistently, to do something that moves you closer to your goal. Before you know it, you've materialized your goal and all it really took was focused action.

Putting focused energy into every moment

We wrote in another article about visualizing yourself having already attaining the goal. This is the whole Be Do Have mindset. When it comes to materializing your goals, you must find a way to see yourself as a success and having already accomplished and materialized your goal. You will know when you have perfected this mindset when you materialize, even a small goal because it will feel almost serendipitous to you. This will feel like it was absolutely was supposed to happen, just like it did.

You see there are times when there will be apparent, and even some not so apparent obstacles that you either put in place or that you run into. These obstacles are a fact of life but how you face them and deal with them is entirely up to you. You can sit and think that you will never be able to overcome them or you can put some intense focused energy onto them in order to easily skirt around them. You can choose to believe that you are the only person that has ever faced that challenge or obstacle or you can very quickly realize that it is what it is, simply a bump in the road and many other very successful people have already hit it and got around it.

You see whatever obstacle you believe is in front of you, there have been others that have overcome even greater challenges. It truly boils down, not to where you are now because in a split second that will be the past so where you are now is of little consequence. What is really important right now, right now and right now is how you approach life. What attitude do you possess towards your future circumstances and how you approach your life.

The ultra successful people in our world and society fully experience every moment. There are a couple of really good reasons, logical reasons for fully experiencing every moment:

The moment you are in is the only moment in which you have power

The past is the past, even if it just happened a split second ago

You future depends on the choices you make right now, right now and right now

In order to live life with an abundant and prosperous future, you must live your life so that it is experienced as rich and rewarding in each and every moment. This is all about putting focused energy into each and every moment and living your life as you would and have imagined it to be. Remember a couple of things about focused energy:

Focused Energy Eliminates Lack (feeling), and
Focused Energy Achieves Results (fear)

Have a goal of working from home? -- the 6th common denominator for success

As we go about our day, we get asked a lot about how we materialized our goal of working from home, with our own network marketing business. There are many facets of working from home that we needed to figure out. Once those decisions are made and the choice is made there are 5, nope 6 things that you need to master and develop really well as you start to work from home.

All of the leaders in the network marketing and work at home industry will tell you that all you have to do is tap or plug into their system and you will achieve the same level of success as we have. To a degree, this is very very true. A system that is easily duplicated, simple and one that is proven is absolutely essential when working from home. After all, network marketing is a business of marketing and promoting being done, mostly, by people that have very little knowledge of marketing and promoting.

Once you have the business model that is right for you, the leadership that is going to be of the most benefit and the training and support you need to be successful there are 5, no actually 6 things that you need to develop and make your own Daily Method of Operation.

The first 5 things listed here are things that can be developed, practiced and perfected by simply putting them in place with some discipline. Realize as well that these are in no particular order, neither is of more importance than the other. They are simply the 5 things that are absolutely required and need to be done with number 6. Also realize that if number 6 is not there, just set your alarm clock and go to work tomorrow morning.

Even though number 6 is last, it is absolutely required. As a matter of fact you can be successful with just number 6 but it will be much more easily accomplished by combining all 6 together.

You must perform Income Producing activities every day

You must become an absolute student of Personal Development

You must take the time to visualize and meditate on your goals every day

You must carry an expectation of leadership -- in yourself as well as others

You must continue to brainstorm and mastermind with the leaders

Now most business leaders will tell you that if you concentrate on these 5 things consistently and persistently then you will have no choice but become successful. This is true. However there is one common denominator amongst the successful home business owners that very few talk about after you "join" their business and that one is number 6.

A True and Burning DESIRE!!

Be Do Have is very different from Fake it until you make it

As we circulate through the personal development world we hear many of the leaders and the gurus talk about be do have:

· Be the person that you want to be
· Do the things that person would do, and
· Have the things that person would have

Up until I discovered personal development and realized that materializing your goals, achieving your burning desires and realizing the abundance in all aspects of my life was really only a mindset away, I truly thought that Be Do Have was just another way of saying:

· Fake it until you make it, or
· Keeping up with the Jones's

The harsh reality is though that there are still people that believe that they have to fake it until they make it. Actually, as much as I hated the whole idea, we truly were living that lifestyle and weren't really aware of it. When we figured out the true meaning of Be Do Have, there was a huge transformation in our lives.

There are people that are driving around in automobiles that they cannot afford, wearing suits, jewelry, leather coats and perfumes that they just are not in the financial situation to own. These are people living in their dream homes, well before they have achieved their dream. Like we were, they are faking it until they make it and simply keeping up with the Jones's.

Now I am not on a soap box here about over extending or living beyond your means. I am simply saying that there is a major difference between faking it until you're making it and mastering the Be Do Have principle.

Mastering the Be Do Have principle is the key to mirroring successful people. There is a mindset to success, we all know that. The ultra successful people in our world and society have that mindset of success. Take some time to get associated with some successful and some ultra successful people. This is much easier than it sounds, you can get to know Donald Trump, Robert Kiyosaki and T Harv Eker, just to name a couple of relatively successful people through their books. I actually prefer them in audio format. When you can have a mindset of success that mirrors the mindset of people like these you will now how to Be Do and Have just like them.

Join some associations of successful people, either locally or online. The possibilities are limitless online. No matter how you do it, in order to materialize your goals you need to realize that Be Do Have is a mindset.

Be a big thinker, be success oriented, be willing to take the actions to achieve your goals. Do the things an ultra successful person does every day, follow their Daily Method of Operation. Be Just as organized as they are, just as dedicated as they are. Have the same thought process as they do and learn to make decisions quickly and effectively. Study them, their habits. Get to know successful people in all the areas you want to change. Once you are done, and you have become the person you want to be. When you have materialized your goals then remember to share your successes and your abundance. Never forget that abundance is for everybody.

How to Control Luck and Materialize Your Goals

Ever wonder why some people seem to have all the luck and others just don't seem to have any luck at all? What is your thought on that? Is there a universal force that determines who gets the luck or do we as human beings determine it for ourselves? Maybe it is the human doers that get all the luck......

We used to wonder the same thing...

especially when we were struggling in life!

It seemed everyone had it easier or had more luck than me... People we worked with were having more success, getting the deal or moving ahead of me. We couldn't figure it out, it just didn't make any sense. We wondered how do we get control over our circumstances and results.

Then we realized something that changed our lives forever!

We began to study those folks, and especially ultra successful people. In talking with these people about their success, they all shared with us that they didn't believe luck had anything to do with their success. They said that their luck, as we knew it, was a result of a series of choices that they made.

Can you believe that? We thought they were all so lucky and they didn't even believe in luck!
Rather, each one of them said they made the decision to be successful and then they took the actions necessary to materialize their goals... that's what made them successful.

We thought...yeah, but you haven't experienced the adversities and challenges that we have!
But, many of them had. The stories of what they overcame to get where they are now were amazing! One good friend of ours is actually legally blind and he has been "lucky" enough to place in the top 10 of the Olympic games in tandem cycling, create one very successful traditional business and an ultra successful online business.

Actually...it was totally inspiring. Here are some choices they made…. And oddly enough they were all choices under their control…. They were mindset choices:

Circumstances would not get in the way of success

No obstacles are too great

No amount of work is to much

Nothing anyone else says would deter them

They would ignore the False Evidence that Appeared Real and replace that with Focused Energy and Achieve Results

What they taught us was that successful goal setters and achievers choose success.

This was a huge wake up call for us. There would be no more complaining all the time about circumstances, jobs, bosses... we would no longer feel powerless, as though this was the hand that life had dealt us.

We realized that our lack of luck was an excuse that we were using to justify why we were not living the life we wanted. We were choosing the easy way out.

Choose to take responsibility for the results in your life... no more blaming everyone and everything else. It is time to choose to be lucky!

Donald Trump talks of a great golfer that said:

The harder I work, the luckier I get

We are so thankful and grateful that we made the change in our life, because, quite frankly, we were tired of waiting for luck to work out for us.

And, life is a lot easier now than it used to be...that's for sure!

Once we got that we could create our own luck our lives totally turned around! We attracted a great business and mentors and now live a life we are excited about and have become the leaders and mentors we have always envisioned ourselves to be.

And....the best part? Anyone can create their own luck. we are living proof!

Goal setting needs a plan, a roadmap to success

If you have been following the articles on the blog you will notice that there is a theme here. The theme is one of having the proper mindset to materialize your goals. We will soon get into how to write them properly using the S.M.A.R.T. goal setting principles but at first it is imperative that we have a "roadmap to success". Knowing what, when and why we have a burning desire for something are the most important ingredients in goal setting. Combine what you want, when and why you want it, with affirmation and visualization tools and your goal will materialize the way you want it to. Leave out any of the necessary ingredients, and you should be careful what you wish for because you just may get it.

Now if you are wondering why it is so important to have a "roadmap" for setting and materializing your goals, check out this true story about a goal being set, without reference to the why, the when or what life will be like once it is achieved. This is a goal that was achieved just because the burning desire was so great. Unfortunately it materialized without a plan. This is a true story and should help you in realizing just how important it is to accomplish this goal setting process properly.

"July 2005, we returned from a family vacation and I will never forget how I felt coming back and dreading, I mean really dreading going back to work. At the time I was General managing an automotive franchise store and it was pretty successful. This vacation was the first one that we had taken in a very long time, unless of course you count the ones we spent in a tent or borrowed trailer from time to time.

Now that I look back upon those times it is actually very funny. You see we live in a rural community and my car dealership was pretty well in the center of the City. What is funny though is the times we spent camping in the tent or borrowed trailer were in a campground within the city limits. We actually came into town to go camping.

You are probably asking yourself why we did this and the reason is very simple. I still had to work. Yup, I would leave my family at the campground on Friday and Saturday, while I went to work. I actually brought my suits, shirts and ties with me, camping. I remember thinking at the time that it would not take me as long to get to work those days and as a result I could justify it. I am actually laughing as I write this, thinking back to the times when upon return to the campsite I would start chopping wood for a campfire in my shirt, tie and dress shoes.

So it was upon return from that family vacation in July of 2005 that I said to myself, and my beautiful wife, that's it I am going to get out of this Job and especially this industry. I told myself that every day and meant it as a goal. I put little thought into why I wanted out, as that appeared obvious to me and I set no plan in action. I didn't consider what I was grateful for in the job I had, I didn't think about what it would be like when I was out of it and I didn't even care what I would do instead: I just wanted out.

It only took 2 months or so for that goal to materialize for me which tells you just how effective a burning desire can really be. I got out of that job on September 30, 2005. The problem was though that I got out of it as a result of a massive heart attack at the age of 45. September 30, 2005 I was admitted to the hospital and October 11, 2005 I had a quadruple bypass and came back home on October 16, 2005.

All I could think as we went through the diagnosis, the realization, the surgery and the short recovery period in the hospital was how grateful I was, all of a sudden, for the company I worked for. I reassured myself and my wife that I had not given the notice I had written and that everything was going to be ok. I never thought for an instant that after 8 ½ years of dedicated service to that organization they would let me go after a heart attack.

When I got home from the hospital, made my way to the couch in my living room, I picked up the phone and called my employer. I told him that he didn't have to worry. I would be able to run the store from home if he set up someone to work with me, be my eyes and ears. I meant it too, I really believed that it would only be 5 or 6 weeks and I would be able to be back working the 10 – 12 hours a day 6 days a week.

Then, in the blink of an eye, my goal materialized. I was informed over the phone on a Sunday afternoon, just after open heart surgery that I had been replaced and there was no position for me with the company that I had dedicated my last 8 ½ years to. I had no plan, no roadmap to direct me after my goal had materialized".

Today we are so thankful and grateful that we discovered, and became students of personal development. By putting focused energy into our future, and our goals we have learned how to put the personal back into personal development and materialize our goals.

Obstacles and Failures -- nothing more than educational opportunities: if you know your why!

Let's face it. Sometimes we set goals and forget about them after a few days, or a few weeks, sometimes a little longer. Why is that? Simply, if you forget about your goals, they're not important enough! This is why it's imperative that we really, really want what we say we want - that's called "a strong desire".

We like to call it a Burning Desire. Ours are like the Olympic flame: never extinguished!

Why do you want to earn $200,000 per year? What will you do with that brand new car? Who will you go on that tropical vacation with? What does that dream house look like? Who is attending that house warming party when you move into the Dream House? Who is that special significant other you're spending your life with? When we're clear on WHAT we want, and WHY we want it, we have a much higher opportunity to materialize our goals.

Here's an example: You've set a significant goal to start your own business, you've established that you want this so that you can have time and money freedom. You go to the bank to get a new-business start up loan and you're denied. Now you tell yourself, "This just isn't meant to be for me" and you quit - before you even start.

Here's that example combined with a Burning Desire: You've set that same significant goal to start your own business. You've established that you want this so that you can spend more time with your kids, be the kind of husband or wife that you know you are, be happy, create a loving and empowering environment for your kids to grow up in, be recognized in your community as a leader, experience memorable vacations with your family and friends, give back in an impactful way and live your life's purpose. You know that in return for this goal you will give back to everybody in your world and then some, you know it is the right thing to do and you have faith that it will work.

You go to the bank to get a new-business start up loan and you're denied. Now you tell yourself:

Next! There is way and I'll make this happen!

You see, the first scenario we had a 50% "why" and a 70% obstacle. In the second scenario we had a 100% why and a 70% obstacle. When we're really, really clear on WHY we want something, we're able to move through the obstacles in our path. These obstacles are just growing experiences and are nothing but educational to prepare us for who we are to become. Think about that - obstacles prepare us for who we are becoming. That in itself is pretty exciting don't you think?!

Revisit your why - if it isn't strong enough, you don't really want it after all. Go back and decide what you REALLY want. Then you'll create magic!

Surviving your circle of influence....

How to survive your Circle Of Influence, or worse yet your family….

Well here you are, developing your list of things that you ARE going to achieve, goals that you are going to materialize so that you can ease that burning desire, and finally live that life that you know you deserve! You have been studying yourself and really opening up your mind to all the opportunities and possibilities: isn't it exciting? You know it is.

It is great that you finally have a belief in yourself, that you know you can earn twice the money you are now and you know that finally you can buy your dream home and find that perfect partner. You have developed your new mindset to have faith instead of just hoping. Hope is just a wish list, while faith is true belief.

Wait a minute though; as you are talking about your goals and aspirations, people that you deal with, even live with every day are saying:

1. You can't do that, what are you thinking
2. Money is the root of all evil
3. Rich people are bad
4. You will never find the perfect person, you should settle for someone good and nice
5. You don't deserve to be any happier than the rest of us

And on and on it goes - and you know what - will continue to go.

It is important to realize that the people around you have no problem with you achieving or being successful. They really don’t. The reality is though, unless they are like-minded to you when it comes to big thinking, goal setting and materializing your goals, they will never want you to be more successful than them. It is just a fact. Think about it - when you see one of your friends or a family member become really "lucky" or achieve a milestone, are you truly happy for them or do you say, man that is great for them but what about me?

Should you be fortunate enough to have positive minded people in your circle of influence, take notice of their reaction when someone gets promoted or achieves a milestone. Their first reaction will be one of elation for the person, and gratitude for knowing someone that has attracted such good fortune into their lives. Proof of abundance will abound for them. Here are some tips for becoming the person that knows and believes that abundance in all aspects of life is for, and is readily available, to everybody:

1. Keep a gratitude log; every time something happens that is positive in your life, write it down
2. Affirm and visualize your goals consistently
3. Write your goals out in story form to help you in your visualizations
4. Associate with like minded people. Join a law of Attraction group or have a get together to watch your new favorite movie, The Secret
5. Most importantly, when dealing with your circle of influence is (drum roll please)… be influential, not influenced: How great would it be to watch your friends and family become ultra successful and jump on this journey with you.

Remember that if your life is on autopilot, it will not take long for your sub-conscious mind to steer you right back on the course you were on. Take the reigns folks, control your outcomes, and create your own destiny.

How to approach your goals on a Daily Basis

So now you have your GOAL - that is, Great Opportunity to Achieve Lifestyle - the lifestyle you want! You've determined that you want to create something in your life that you currently don't have. Chances are, that's going to mean learning a new skill and developing a new mindset, and creating a new habit. One of those habits is making your written goal your new best friend. You wouldn't ignore your new friend and you won't ignore your newly set goal. Here is your chance to apply your new definition of fear: Focused Energy Achieves Results.

Is your goal written and absolutely defined? By defined, we mean an absolute that is broken down to the ridiculous. If your goal is financial, do you have a number in your goal? If your goal is a new relationship, have you defined the partner that you want to attract? Can you imagine the feelings you will have as you relate to him or her? Have you written your goal in SMART fashion (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic and Timely)? If not, take some time now to re-visit the vision of your goal. What specifically do you want? In what quantity? Does your goal seem achievable - somewhat challenging but still achievable? Is it realistic - if you're earning $40,000 per year, a goal of $1 million this next year may be unrealistic, or maybe not: it all depends on the feelings you have as your read, visualize and reach for your goal. When do you want to achieve this goal - by what date? Keep in mind you don't have to know HOW you'll achieve your goal, just WHAT you want. The "how" will show up - the desire is more important at this point. (You'll hear more about SMART goal setting in the near future.) Know that as you maintain your process with us, you will probably be re-writing your goals often.

One of the best ways to ensure that you're always moving towards your goal is to review your goal every day. Ideally, this is first thing every morning and last thing every night. What this essentially does is put your goal in the forefront of your mind for the day, and allows your subconscious mind to work on it overnight. You'll find that you wake up with inspired ideas, urges to follow some course of action and a renewed energy to see the end result. This doesn’t mean that just by reviewing your goals that you'll achieve them - you'll take consistent action to get there. There will be mornings when you awake that you are feeling really good about your goals. Be sure and journal about your dreams and thoughts through the night. Many successful goal achievers actually keep a journal by their bedside so they can write about their ideas in their dreams. Reviewing goals keeps your mind focused on what you want and keeps you moving past the obstacles that will appear in your path.

With repetition, not only will you build confidence in yourself but you'll see proof that you can succeed in what you set your mind and heart to. You're creating a pattern of success!

Focus on your goals and use fear to your advantage

Does Fear control your ability to move forward towards your goals? For so many people it does. There is no other real explanation for our lowering our goals and aspirations. We lower them to meet our capabilities either personally or financially. Our doubts and our fears define our comfort zone and it is our comfort zone that we feel the best in. Our comfort zone is in direct proportion to our achievement zone or our wealth zone. It stands to reason then that we should always be working on expanding our comfort zone doesn't it?

So many people want to do more. So many people want to enjoy an increase in either their time or their income. They know it is possible because many other people have done it. There has to be something happening in their life that is defining them, or inhibiting them from accomplishing the increase. Now when we talk about increase we are not just referring to a person's time and money with reference to their job or their position in life. People are unable or able, depending on their beliefs, to increase in all aspects of their life. Take a moment and consider your own situation. Do you have a desire for more, in some aspects of your life? Of course you do.
Would you like to have more time to spend with your children? Would you like to have more disposable income so that you can take your family on a vacation, or at the least take your loving spouse on a really nice and enjoyable weekend without worrying about your time from work, or your money from your bank account? Would you like to be more charitable to your favorite causes? Maybe you have always wanted to go back to school, or start your own business, or move back to your home town, or move away from your home town. It doesn't matter what it is that you have the burning desire for. All that matters is what you do to achieve it and make it happen. What are you doing to expand your comfort zone?

There are many acronyms or definitions when the gurus talk about fear. Usually these acronyms make people more afraid to go after what they want but by the end of this article, if you can adopt a new meaning for fear you will be able to use it, fear that is, to your advantage. You see as powerful a tool fear can be for not achieving, it can also be used, just as powerfully as a tool to help you achieve. Just like the old adage of keeping your friends close and keeping your enemies closer, you can learn to keep your fear very close and therefore keep a very close eye on it and use it to your advantage.

As an example many people look at fear as the following: False Evidence Appearing Real. This was originally meant as a way to use fear to your benefit, but has a very negative feel to it. When you are going through your due diligence on a goal that you have set, you will quickly realize what actions you need to take to achieve it. With this definition of fear, in the back of your mind, you will continually be saying to yourself that all the positive things you are seeing and feeling are false. That cannot be good for your subconscious mind and ultimately you will convince yourself to jump right back into your comfort zone.

One of the most recent breakdowns of fear that I have heard is Forget Everything And Run. Use this one and you will only put a toe in the water outside of your comfort zone and then pull it right back immediately. You won't get anywhere like that.

Here is one that we use daily and has had a great effect on the people that we coach train and mentor. When we see an opportunity, have an idea or choose a path that we feel fear about we remember this: Focused Energy Achieves Results. Apply this to your due diligence and apply it to your goals and aspirations. By applying focused energy to your thoughts, goals, aspirations, ideas and your burning desires you will quickly be able to determine the real opportunities, or the good opportunities from the bad.

Remember your feelings determine your thoughts which control your actions which determine your results. If your feeling of fear becomes focused energy until you know that it is the right path for you, then you will achieve the results you desire. Talk about expanding your comfort zone and ultimately your achievement zone.

Understanding Doubt and Fear

In the last article we pointed out the 2 main obstacles people face when they are moving towards their goals; doubt and fear.

A quick review of doubt is required here before we move onto addressing fear. As far as obstacles go doubt can be a real goal killer.

The main reason for this is that doubt lurks. It lurks in the corners of your mind that you feel you cannot control or that you have the most trouble controlling. Doubt lurks in your sub-conscious mind. To get a grip on your doubt you need to replace the negative thoughts that it creates with positive thoughts: positive thoughts that make you feel good. You know that when you feel good, you will have more positive thoughts and then you will take inspired action towards your goal and then achieve the desired results.

Zapping your doubt with positive thought or affirmations is a practiced skill. You can master the skill though with some time, patience and a journal. As you go through your day, simply write in a private journal the negative thought or doubt that has crossed your mind and then in the back of your journal, or in the middle with a bookmark – start your positive journal. Simply re-write it with a positive spin that makes you feel good. In short order your conscious mind, as it reads and repeats your positive notes will "convince" your subconscious mind that the positive statement is true and the negative or doubtful statement should be dismissed at all times.

All you have done here is start essentially 2 journals. One records your doubt and negative thoughts while the other records your positive thoughts and what someday may become your series of goals. Read, with intent and purpose, your positive journal every night before you go to bed and every morning when you get up: you will soon see amazing results.

Fear. Here is a topic that could be summed up in a couple of words or could take a lifetime to conquer. It really is up to the person addressing it. We all decide to avoid something, or to delay something, or to cancel something because we are "afraid" of the results. We may have a fear that the situation will make us uncomfortable. We may have a fear that the other person involved may disappoint us. Maybe the fear is that we don't deserve the raise, or deserve the job. There are times when we really have a burning desire to do or accomplish something that quite possibly could be the difference between absolute abundance or staying in our comfort zone – where we are right now. Many of us will take the time to research and establish all the details about this once in a lifetime opportunity. It could be a transfer to a new city, a new job offer that provides more for you and your family or an opportunity to start a new business venture with your cousin Vinny.

Mo matter how excited you get about the project, you all of a sudden start feeling little pangs of fear. This fear just starts to compound. Fear compounds much quicker than a financial investment. Once it starts there is only one way to stop it and that is with laser beam focus.

Now that does not mean that you disregard your fear and just jump into everything you think of. All it means is that as you research a task or opportunity and you have "crossed your t's and dotted your I's" you should not allow fear to dissuade your decision to move forward.

Fear is like doubt: there are many ways to look at it and address it. In the next article we will talk about a couple of ways to look at fear, one of which has allowed us to absolutely control our fear. Not to eliminate it but to control it, understand it and ultimately move through it.

Materializing your goals requires action

Materializing your goals requires action

You will hear this statement over and over again as you become more of a student of personal development. As mentioned previously, the first action required is to become a student, not only of personal development, but of your self. You should put the personal back into your personal development. If you are like we are, you can look in just about any room of your house and find some sort of book, cd, dvd, or system of personal development. There are gurus from every walk of life. Gurus that work with every aspect of your mindset.

If you are truly studying yourself, you are taking notes as you read them or listen to them. You are creating some exercises for yourself, or maybe you have a product or course that is teaching you about yourself. This is how you put the personal back into personal development. Instead of just reading and listening, you are actually translating the material into the language and action that is germane to you. As you develop your mind, you are taking all of the information and applying it to yourself. You see, all of this material is written from that author's perspective, or from a global perspective. We don't all fit into a global model - as a matter of fact a global model is simply a compilation of many, right?

As you get to know yourself, realize that your first step is to develop a path for you. Then realize what it is that holds people back, and will undoubtedly hold you back if you fail to address it. There are 2 things that can have a huge impact as to whether or not you can take the action required to materialize your goals:

Doubt, and

Fear.

It is absolutely imperative that you remove all doubt. Your doubt establishes itself and becomes rooted in your subconscious mind. This happens as a result of your feelings that you have as you think about your direction and your goals. Your goals need to be written in a fashion that makes you feel good when you read them and think about them, which needs to be often. The removal of doubt is only achievable by you. You are unable to read a book, or an article like this and then say ok, no more doubt for me. You have to replace each doubtful thought with a positive and reactionary thought. Think of it as a video game. The negative thoughts or doubts are the bad guys and your conscious mind is armed and ready to just zap them out of your universe or your sub-conscious mind. You just have to play the game.

Once you have developed the ability, and the game will never end, to effectively zap your doubt away you will be in the process of convincing your sub-conscious mind that you can achieve all that you have a true burning desire for. You still won't be done in your preparations though - keep in mind that there is still another obstacle to get around before you can take the action required; fear.

Until next time!

Your Feelings lead to your Thoughts which lead to your Actions which directly impact your Results!

Defining your goals is the first step

Defining Your Goals

Have you ever sat if front of your computer, brought up the mapquest site to get your directions to the airport, or some restaurant only to realize that you don't know the address – you just know it as the airport or as the restaurant. So now before you can get your directions and your printout of the map that you need – it is time to do some research. You need to know the address to give to mapquest.

The process of materializing your goals is not all that different – you need to know where you want to go before you can "plan the trip". Accomplishing a goal, no matter how big or how small is simply the process of identifying what it is that you want, putting together an action plan (or map) and then implementing the actions required to put it all together.

So after you are finished reading this – take a moment and write down, first of all some areas of your life where you want to make some real changes.

Financial

Prosperity (not the same as financial)

Relationships

Career and/or Business

Free time

Family

Once you know the areas of you life that are affecting your ability to live the way you have the burning desire for – you can narrow things down. You are now able to set a goal – or goals for each area. Spend some time thinking about the areas of your life you want to expand and the next time we will talk about Fear and why people start on the road to success but either stop enroute or get so side tracked that they loose their way.

Feel free to subscribe to the blog so that you can get the articles in your inbox as they are published. The process of discovering your goals can be a lot of fun – we appreciate being able to be a small part of that with you. The four of us are graduates of the school of hard knocks – no initials after our names, just successful achievers of what we want. Now we want to help you continue to hit your targets as well.

As with anything, we're starting here with a vision and a GOAL - that's Great Opportunity for Achieving Lifestyle (yes, you can quote us on that). We're here to inspire you to out-of the-box thinking, give you the tools, tips and ideas to make it happen, and share in your successes - we'd love to hear from you!

Have you ever wondered why you set a goal, you're inspired to action, and then at the first (or maybe the second) road block you just quit - you tell yourself that you don't really want that after all?

Just so you know – we've been there and done that prior to our success as well. The constant starting and stopping just makes us feel less of ourselves and conditions our minds to believe we can't have what we want, we can't make it happen and who do we think we are?! Stop, stop, stop! Great news - we know how to get out of that vicious cycle and Materialize Your Goals.

Goal setting is important, but there is much, much more action required to ensure you achieve them.
